ARC REVIEW: Bodie on the Road: Travels with a Rescue Pup in the Dogged Pursuit of Happiness by Belinda Jones

*No Major Spoilers*

**Thanks to SkyHorse Publishing for letting me read this lovely novel early**

***Bodie on the Road by Belinda Jones will be hitting your local bookshelves on June 5, 2018,***

In this touching and emotional memoir, Ms. Jones takes us on an adventure with her newly adopted pup, Bodie. They make a trek along the west coast to visit friends in Portland, Oregon. Along the way, they discover new sights, smells and inner feelings towards each other and past relationships.

The cover of this book looks gorgeous with the bright blue background, distant mountains, blue lake and the grassy field. The smile on Bodie’s face warms my heart and the cover is what made me choose this book to read.

This journey is a testament to dog-lovers and travelers alike. The bond between humans and their canine companions is unbreakable and unyielding. This is a positive read for all those who love dogs, feel-good road trips, and yummy food.

I loved how Ms. Jones added the details of all the delicious food she and Bodie dined on while on this trip. It made me hungry for maybe some food-related books from her. I am a food person, and I wanted to go to a lot of these places and try one of everything!

I was hesitant at first to read this novel. Most of the dog-related books I’ve read such as Marley & Me, Where the Red Fern Grow, and Old Yeller, the dog gets sick and gets put down/dies. This is not that book. This book isn’t about the life of Bodie, it’s just a story about how his life was renewed when he was adopted by Ms. Jones. This is the chapter of this dog’s long and happy life.

I was a little put off with the British slang/words. I felt like it took away from the book somewhat. It’s not that big of a deal overall, I thought it was worth mentioning.

I had three dogs growing up, and Bodie made me miss them very much. There was so much personality in the way the author and Bodie interacted I was able to put myself there.

If you love a genuine love story about a person and their dog, this is the book for you! I thoroughly enjoyed this touching story!

REVIEW: Jessica Jones: The Pulse, The Complete Collection By Brian Michael Bendis

51WZ5HdNJsL._SX324_BO1,204,203,200_

*No Spoilers* **Besides obvious ones**

Jessica Jones, retired Avenger and now Private eye, takes a job at the Daily Bugle for a new column for the newspaper called The Pulse. Along with famed columnist Ben Urich, the duo is tasked with reporting on fellow superheroes and report on their activities and other interesting superhero news stories. All while Jessica is expecting a baby.

However, someone is after Jessica and Luke Cage. Will they come out alive? Will Jessica’s baby be healthy? How is S.H.I.E.L.D. involved? Everyone’s favorite superheroes make a cameo in this epic story of action, excitement, and family!

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Ben Urich also has his own storyline in this graphic novel. He wants to tell the whole story, no matter the red tape or the lack of interest from his coworkers. His loyalty to Daredevil makes him a good member of the press to have at your side.

This story is awesome! I loved all of the cameos from the Marvel Universe superheroes and supervillains! Jessica Jones is a very relatable character in the fact that she is a new mother. The fact of having superhero parents can make being a parent of a possible baby with superhuman powers terrifying!

This is a big collection of graphic novels. So if you’re not up for a long graphic novel, maybe try one of her shorter graphic novels first. I would suggest the Alias series, or the beginning of the series I reviewed Monday.

Life Update & New Idea for the Blog

Rascal Flatts performing at Winstar World Casino & Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma

The concert was fantastic! I was getting burnt out on my guys (Rascal Flatts) live shows, and going into this one, I had low expectations. The same setlist as always changes a few songs same old stuff.

I was surprised to see that they did an overhaul of their setlist it’s not “Greatest Hits” + more recent songs. I genuinely didn’t know which song they were going to play next. They didn’t perform every single hit they’ve ever had, but that’s okay. New music is always good if the music is good.

Overall, the concert was fantastic! Definitely reminded me why these guys were a huge part of my childhood. Their music was there for me when no one else was.

I was bullied by both peers, teachers, and family for being obsessed with not only this band but country music as a whole. Well, things have changed and I don’t consider myself a country music fan anymore. I am still loyal to this band though, after all, I’ve been through, they deserve my loyalty.

I got to visit with my mom for a couple of hours and it was nice getting to spend time with her and catching up on things. I miss my mom sometimes, but I’m glad I decided to branch out on my own when I did.

Also another possible update for this blog. Thanks to the wonderful people at Turner Publishing, I was shown a website where you could get review copies of books before they’re released to bookstores, etc. I think this could be a great idea for this blog! Same rules will apply as they do on here. Please let me know what you think about this new development!
