My Latest Netflix Binge

This an anime about a red panda named Retsuko. By day she’s an office worker in the accounting department. She deals with terrible bosses and annoying coworkers like a champ. When the frustration gets to be too much, she goes to a karaoke bar and belts out death metal.

This comes from the same studio that has created Hello Kitty and several other kid-friendly characters. Seeing this venture into cute and cuddly, but adult at the same time is something I think all of us can relate to.

I hope they make more episodes of this someday! My fiance and I will binge it when season two comes out! If it comes out.

Discussion: Mental Health

I know, I know, it’s another blog post about mental health. I know it’s not a fun subject to talk about, but it’s one that needs to be discussed.

I feel like I’ve been in a slump as of late. I often suffer from bouts of depression. When I went to the mental hospital last year I was diagnosed with Bipolar Depressive Disorder. Knowing what has been causing my mood swings and depressive slumps, gives me comfort in a way that’s difficult to explain.

I have also been dealing with physical health issues as well. I went to the doctor yesterday and she thinks it’s my meds. So she gave me some anti-nausea meds. I’m not pregnant, so yay!

I’m feeling better now, and I am going back to reading and reviewing. I hope you guys have been enjoying my reviews so far. I try to be fair with each book, but sometimes, it’s difficult not to pick favorites.

So I appreciate everyone who reads my reviews and is very supportive of me. I really appreciate it!

Retropalooza in Arlington, TX

There’s a convention that I’ve been annually going to since 2016, and it’s called Retropalooza. They host one convention in Houston, TX as well as Arlington, TX. This year they made the attempt to spread out into San Antonio, TX but plans changed. However, there’s always next year!

This year I’ll be going to Arlington, TX (hopefully) to go hang out with other video game fans like myself. It’s so fun to be in an inviting environment where people cosplay and just hang out with their friends, or meet new ones.

The YouTuber panels are the ones I look forward to the most, I make a list of my favorites that I’d like to meet.

I’ve met Jirard Kahlil AKA “The Completionist”.

I’ve met Alex Faciane from The Dex and Super Beard Bros.

I’ve met 8-Bit Eric.

I’ve met Boogie2988.

I’ve met Gaijin Goombah (awesome guy)

And several others that I can list another time.

I am really looking for ward to getting to go again this year (not set in stone yet, but still hopeful) the convention is in September so I still have time.

Anyway, I’ll see what I can do until then! I’m still reading and having the reviews coming!

Let’s Talk About Star Wars

I recently watched Star Wars: The Last Jedi. I was hyped for this movie when I saw the first trailer, and then the theories. I was somewhat unsure of how I feel now that it’s been a few days after viewing it.

I’m going to try and avoid spoilers for this movie. However, I will be talking about Star Wars as a whole.

I didn’t really grow up with the Star Wars franchise. I was growing up around the time of the prequels, and I remember seeing recorded commercials for Episode I. I thought that Darth Maul looked like the devil and that Princess Amidala looked weird with the makeup and headdress.

When I met my ex, I started exploring the world of Star Wars. I fell in love! I have yet to see the prequels in full or episode 5 in full. I love R2-D2 and BB-8 and the other droids. It’s a great fandom as a whole.

So I can look at the franchise as a whole without the nostalgia goggles. I do see it as a plus, I’m not a movie critic whatsoever. I just think it’s good to be sensible when it comes to nerdy things, and not get upset when your theory doesn’t work out on the screen.

I just felt like I’d express my thoughts and opinions.
